CELIA'S POEMS
No 354
March 04
It’s nearly
been 12 months now,
Whoever
would have thought,
We’d be
caught up in this pandemic,
With our
freedom being sought.
I think
it’s taught us one thing,
To be happy
with our lot,
There’s so
many did not make it,
Who must
never be forgot.
We
appreciate little things in life,
We always
seemed to be behind,
Our lives
have been slowed down now,
And time
for other things we find.
When we
went out today,
It’s sad to
see the shops,
Some have
managed to survive,
Others just
have not.
They’ve had
to close for so long now,
Tried hard
to stay alive,
But in the
finish it’s upsetting,
They just
weren’t able to survive.
It seems to
be a ghost town,
The people
all wear masks,
Trying hard
to just accept things,
As they do
their daily tasks.
It’s a long
time since we’ve seen our friends,
It will be
nice to be together,
Hopefully
we’ll have a hug,
And just
not have to bother.
This war
we’ve had to deal with,
We’ve all
had it to face,
Not just
our men being sent to fight,
It’s
involved the whole human race.
Whether
you’re a fan or not,
Boris told
us how to do it,
And the
history books are going to show,
Just how he
pulled us through it.
