CELIA'S POEMS

It’s nearly 
been 12 months now,
Whoever 
would have thought,
We’d be 
caught up in this pandemic,
With our 
freedom being sought.
I think 
it’s taught us one thing,
To be happy 
with our lot,
There’s so 
many did not make it,
Who must 
never be forgot.
We 
appreciate little things in life,
We always 
seemed to be behind,
Our lives 
have been slowed down now,
And time 
for other things we find.
When we 
went out today,
It’s sad to 
see the shops,
Some have 
managed to survive,
Others just 
have not.
They’ve had 
to close for so long now,
Tried hard 
to stay alive,
But in the 
finish it’s upsetting,
They just 
weren’t able to survive.
It seems to 
be a ghost town,
The people 
all wear masks,
Trying hard 
to just accept things,
As they do 
their daily tasks.
It’s a long 
time since we’ve seen our friends,
It will be 
nice to be together,
Hopefully 
we’ll have a hug,
And just 
not have to bother.
This war 
we’ve had to deal with,
We’ve all 
had it to face,
Not just 
our men being sent to fight,
It’s 
involved the whole human race.
Whether 
you’re a fan or not,
Boris told 
us how to do it,
And the 
history books are going to show,
Just how he 
pulled us through it.
