CELIA'S POEMS
No 368 March
17
I know I
keep on saying this,
But we’ve
been through a war,
No-one went
away to fight,
As they had
to do before.
But this
time we were all involved,
The whole
of the human race,
All through
a ruddy virus,
That we
couldn’t seem to trace,
Unfortunately there was a likeness,
It did take
many lives,
At one time
it was rampant,
Trying to
see no-one survives.
We’ve all
been victims of the war,
Young, old,
and even little ones,
We’ve been
locked down for many weeks,
And just
had to take what comes.
The shops
were closed, we all wore masks,
But then we
got instructions,
At last
they’d hopefully found a cure,
We all went
for injections.
No-one will
want my opinion,
But I’ll
give it anyway,
The front
liners should get a medal,
They’ve all
worked night and day.
They came
out of this battle weary,
They’d
pulled us through this mess,
They need
some recognition,
You’re all
with me I guess.
Heroes of
the last 2 wars,
Were all
given recognition,
If we don’t
reward our heroes,
We should
never be forgiven.
