CELIA'S POEMS
No 370 March

When my
youngest daughter got married,
They bought
a house near mine,
I think she
wanted to be near me,
And visited
all the time.
Her husband
David lost his job,
The day
that they moved in,
It really
was a shock for them,
A poor way
to begin,
One night
they decided to go out,
I don’t
think for too long,
When they
returned and went inside,
They knew
something was wrong.
They’d been
visited by burglars,
The place
was in a mess,
She could
have done without this,
Adding to
her stress.
She rang me
up to tell me,
I could
tell she had been shaken,
I said “Oh
no that’s dreadful”
Can you
tell me what they’ve taken.
After a
while she rang me back,
They’d had
a good look round,
She said
nothings missing,
Everything
they had they’d found.
I said well
that is good then,
I hope
you’ve not made a mistake,
Are you
sure they didn’t leave you something,
Because
you’d nothing fit to take.
