CELIA'S POEMS
No 375 March

One year
when in Las Vegas,
We booked
to see a show,
I do just
love Las Vegas,
But this
I’m sure you know.
We were
going to the show that night,
But Geoff
had lost his card,
As it was
his Visa card,
We both
looked long and hard.
We could
not find it anywhere,
I nearly
had a fit,
Geoff said,
don’t you worry,
I’ll have
to cancel it.
This is
easier said than done,
It took
ages to get through,
But
eventually he got through,
It cost a
“bob or two”,
That night
while we were at the show,
A clown was
going round,
I got a tap
on the shoulder,
And when I
did look round.
It was not
the clown I saw,
But the lad
from the booking desk,
He said you
left your card sir,
I saved it,
thought that was best
I knew that
you’d be here tonight,
And exactly
in which seat,
Things like
this are priceless,
I just had
to repeat.
