CELIA'S POEMS
No 376 March
25
At the
start of the pandemic,
My poems I
did begin,
So many
people asked me,
For a book
to put them in.
I thought
this too ambitious,
Just a
lovely dream,
A book when
you are 84,
Just does
seem too extreme.
Then along
came Catrina,
24 / 7
she’s in pain,
She said
that she would help us,
I didn’t
like to ask again.
But bless
her she came back to us,
And said
she’d try her best,
She worked
through all her illness,
And now you
know the rest.
Although
I’m proud of my achievement,
It’s Geoff
and Catrina I must praise,
Without
them there would be no book,
And no
money could we raise.
Of course
this Covid’s gone on so long,
Much longer
than we reckoned,
As I’m
still churning poems out,
Of course,
the book, there’ll be a second.
