When Geoff
and I got married,
We were not
in our prime,
Geoff had
been a bachelor,
And it was
my second time.
We had a
lovely wedding,
Our
honeymoon was stupendous,
We went on
a bowling holiday,
80 people
went with us.
Hardly the
usual honeymoon,
A romantic
getaway,
It was a
tour of America,
And our
friends all made the day.
When we
were on the initial flight,
The captain
knew we’d just got married,
The hostess
came up to our seat,
Champagne
is what she carried.
Our tour
was very eventful,
This I’ve
got to say,
I’ll tell
you all about it,
That will
be another day.
We ended up
in Las Vegas,
Geoff said
“We’ll have the champagne I think”,
As he
pulled the cork, the bottle slipped,
It flew
under the bed and emptied, we never got a drink.
This year
we will celebrate 29 years,
Thank you
Geoff, you’ve been a treasure,
I got
myself a “toy boy”,
Every day
has been a pleasure.
