REPORTS  &  PLAYLISTS

SEPTEMBER  2015

September 23rd

What a brilliant night at class this week, best turn out we’ve had for ages. The new dance for this week was one from Neville & Julie “FLASHLIGHT”, it’s a 32 count, 2 wall dance with one restart choreographed to “Flashlight” by Jessie J described as advanced on the step sheet. Don’t be put off by the advanced label, it’s not that difficult really. Got an excellent response from the class with a full floor all three times we danced it. Re-capped recently taught dances which included “WRITTEN IN SCARS” (Karl-Harry Winson & Ross Brown), “POP ‘N DROP” (Dee Musk & Ria Vos) & “NEVER BEEN TO SPAIN” (Jo Thompson Szymanski) all going well plus a few others where needed.

Playlist was :- Knocking On Wood, Fly High, Alcazar, Uptown Funk, One Track Mind, Alvaro, Your Loving Arms, Wow Tokyo, Beautiful In My Eyes, Cardiology, Fireball, Up, Darling Hold My Hand, Your Place Or Mine, Flashlight (twice), The Bomp, Written In Scars, Black Magic, Pop ‘n Drop, Don’t Let The Sun Go Down, Slam Goes The Door, Flashlight (again), Never Been To Spain. Best Year, Running & Roads. A few I had in my list that we hadn’t time for so will work them in next week.

It was really touching this week to see the return of one of our original members returning to class after battling cancer for many months. She gave Celia a box of chocolates for the class and when Celia asked if it was her birthday she said “it’s just to celebrate my return”. Celia announced this to the class (holding back tears) and told them diet or no diet they MUST have one of these chocolates to celebrate Corrina’s bravery.

Coming up in a couple of weeks time at Victoria Hall, Saltaire on Wednesday October 7th we have our Party night to celebrate 16 years as “Best of Friends”. There’ll be the usual buffet supper, fun quiz and lots of dancing, everybody welcome.
